The administration and staff of Glencliff embrace the changing demographics of our community and set high expectations for the performance and behavior of our students. At Glencliff we recognize that students are driven by technological society and technology is integrated into the education experience in both instructional and/or research settings.

In 1989, Glencliff was recognized as a National School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education. This past school year, Glencliff was accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools with commendations for the programs and services provided. Glencliff students are encouraged to serve as leaders in our school and to participate in activities that extend the scope of their education. Glencliff students currently participate in the Mayor’s Youth Council, International Teen Outreach Program, Future Business Leaders of America, Youth In Government, Community Nashville, AVID and we offer the only ACE certified culinary arts program in the state of Tennessee.
Beginning in the fall of 2008, Glencliff High School will implement Career Academies as a part of the redesign of high schools. Students will have the opportunity to receiving training and instruction in the areas of: Health Sciences, Human Services, Hospitality and Tourism, Business Management and Administration and International Business. As part of the Career Academy program, students will have the opportunity to work with professionals and business in there respective fields, with a goal of allowing students to develop the skills necessary for them to enter their respective fields or attend college to pursue post secondary training and education. Glencliff also provides a Freshman Academy and an Advisory program in order to provide more assistance to students and increase the likelihood of academic success.
