What Makes Our School Unique?
We are committed to developing in our youth the knowledge, skills, and attitudes appropriate to their developmental levels so that they have the confidence to be what they want to be in their individual futures. We also recognize the importance of maintaining a “delicate balance” of these facets in successful young people who accept that learning is a lifetime commitment.
Specifically, our first priority is the development of academic proficiency delivered in a setting which is conducive to learning. Further, we recognize the elements necessary to meet that priority; teachers must have time to teach; students must feel safe and have respect for one another, and parents must know we value their involvement.
We have grades 5-8 and are organized in middle school teams. We have the full range of athletics, an outstanding fine arts program, and achieve success in district competitions -both athletic and academic. Our students have the opportunity to enter high school with excellent academic preparation including three high school credits - Algebra, Spanish and Physical Science. DuPont Tyler Middle School is a true middle school. We, the faculty and staff, are prepared to fulfill our commitment to our students. We look forward to working with parents and community leaders to reach our goals.
