What Makes Our School Unique?

Eakin is a wonderful school! Our students consistently show high academic achievement and progress each year. We believe that the partnership of school and home is the main reason for our success. Eakin parents and teachers work together in many ways to create a positive experience for each of our students. Additionally, the diversity within our school encourages our students to be tolerant of others and look beyond the surface to find commonalities. Located in a beautiful residential area near Vanderbilt University, our historic building is also a source of pride. We are proud of the addition of a new academic wing and the refurbishment of our historic building completed during the 2006-07 school year.

Every Eakin parent is a member of the PTO. Monthly meetings, annual community events, fundraisers, and tutoring are just a few of the projects that parents oversee. The School Design Team consists of parents, teachers and community members.

While ensuring that basic academic needs are being met, teachers also encourage, challenge, and nurture students to go beyond the basics and develop areas of interest and talent.
