As we strive to enhance the achievement and development of all students, our vision is focused upon equity for all and to educate the total child. We will provide meaningful experiences that will increase academic success, enhance self esteem, and foster self discipline. We respect the dignity of all cultures, and we take pride in our diverse population. We are all committed to the proposition that children learn best within a safe and secure environment. In order to develop lifelong learners, the faculty and staff provide the best possible resources that will address student needs. Our mission is to include parents, volunteers, and community within the educational loop in order to prepare students for the global society.

Who Attends Our School?
Students attending Haywood live in the southern most area of Davidson County and are zoned to Overton High School. The elementary schools in the Overton cluster are: Norman Binkley, Crieve Hall, Granbery, Haywood, Shayne and Tusculum. Middle schools are Croft Design Center, McMurray, and W.H. Oliver.

PENCIL Foundation, a nonprofit organization, links community resources with Nashville public schools. A PENCIL Partner is a business or other community organization that teams up with a Metro school to volunteer time and donate resources that promote student success.
