Mrs. Bearden

Mrs. Leah Bearden is excited about joining the excellent faculty and staff at Una Elementary this year!  She has been teaching 5th grade in Metro Davidson County for six years.

She received her BA in Education and Health from Belmont University and her M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University.

Mrs. Bearden and her husband, Russell, reside in Inglewood wtih their one-year-old daughter, Bella, and their two dogs, Chloe and Samson.

I have a little poem to share with you that's all about me..Enjoy!

Middle School District Teacher of the Year in 2004
Was just the beginning of opening new doors.

I walked right from middle into elementary school
And saw more for me to learn;
That was really cool !!

My hubby, Greg, son Caleb whose 5
And daughter Zoey, too
All constantly wonder what it is at Una
That I always do.

I tell them I get to prepare minds
I get to explore hearts.
After all, that's where true learning
For children seems to start.

I help kids develop a sense of self
And strong confidence in their speech
We also create a class community
Where all can feel at peace.

So when I'm not swimming, running,
Reading, writing, or biking just for fun
I'm glad to be here at Una School
Where the Eagles are # 1.
