Exciting things that your class has done this year or things that you plan to do before the end of the year.
We studied a wonderful organism unit. The students enjoyed observing snails, guppies and seeds growing into plants. The students have become authors and are writing super stories in their journals. The Accelerated Reader program has really taken off. The students have lots of fun reading, competing and are excited about reaching their 50 points.

Workshops attended: Learn Not to Burn, Increasing Student Achievement with guided Reading, Setting up a Balanced Literacy Classroom, Teaching the Gifted Child.

Where did you attend college, what was you major?
I attended Tennessee State University majoring in Early Childhood Education.

What made you decide to teach the First Grade?
I have always loved the enthusiasm of small children.

My favorite colors are red and purple.

My favorite book is Love You Forever by Robert Munsch.

I prefer to communicate with my parents through e-mail or school phone.
