We have learned to add and subtract, tell time and count money. We will learn about weather and solids and liquids. We planted seeds and watched our plants grow. We have learned about compound words, synonyms and much more. We have enjoyed writing stories and to share with others in our classroom.

I continue to take workshops to learn more on how to help English Language learners lean the best.
Where did you attend college, what was you major?
I attended the University of Louisiana. I completed the required certification courses for teaching English Language Learners from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga..
Do you have a higher degree? How many years do you have? (Masters, +30, Dr. Degree)
My certification is a B.A. K-8 with an ELL endorsement. I have taught 27years I have taught grades Kindergarten through 6th grade.
What made you decide to teach the First Grade?
I love seeing first grader learn. First grade is such an important year where the students are developing so much. I enjoy watching them get excited when they have figured out something new. They can take in so much new information and that is neat to watch.
What is your favorite color?
My favorite color is purple

I cannot choose a favorite. I love so many of them. One of my favorite authors is Eric Carle.

The students enjoy celebrating the 100th day of school. We have many activities in the classroom that day. It is anticipated since the first day of school. The students will also enjoy their field trips to Junie B. Jones show, Travelers Rest and others..
