Exciting things that your class has done this year or things that you plan to do before the end of the year.
We will learn to add and subtract, tell time, and count money. We will learn about weather and solids and liquids.  We will plant seeds and watch our plants grow.  We will learn about compound words, synonyms, and much more.  We have enjoyed writing stories to share with others in our classroom.

Ongoing professional development or continued education you have been working on this year.
I  spend my summer learning all about teaching English Language learners.  I took workshops and read lots of teacher resource books.

Where did you attend college, what was you major?
I attended the Tennessee Tech University majoring in Early Childhood Education. I will be returning to school this year to get my ELL certification.

Do you have a higher degree? How many years do you have? (Masters, +30 Dr. Degree)
I have 22 years of teaching experience.This is my first year in ELL.

What made you decide to teach the First Grade? 
My students are like sponges. They soak up everything. I love seeing the look on their faces when they learn something new..

What is your favorite color?
My favorite colors are earthy fall colors and shades of red..

What is you favorite children’s book? Any of the pigeon books by Mo Williams.

How do you prefer to communicate with your parents?
I like to meet face to face..

We do a lot of hands -on learning in my class. We have days when we cook, explore and just get messy!

I have lived in many places. I love to travel and try to take a trip to  a new place every summer. I have a cat named Noozie. I love to read and spend time with my family..
