We have been enjoying a science and social studies this year. We have had a good time going on educational field trips to the Children’s Theater, Traveller’s Rest.,-Two Rivers Park.
Ongoing professional development or continued education you have been working on this year. Workshops Attended; International Storytelling Convention in Jonesboro, Tn, I was an Advocate for Technology in Washington DC to represent the state of Tennessee, I attended Quantum Learning workshops, Art Smart, Guided Reading, Online Video Content, Edusoft NetTrekker Training, Reading Adoption Handwriting workshops.
Where did you attend college, what was you major?
I attended the University of Tennessee majoring in Elementary Education and Early Childhood. I’m certified Pre-K though 9th grade. I received my Master’s and Doctoral Degree from Tennessee State University in Supervision and Administration.
What made you decide to teach the First Grade?
I enjoy all ages of children, but I felt the most challenge would be in First Grade. I feel called to set a happy school tone for children experience school in a positive way. I am inspired by John Denver, “All ages of children are the blessings of today.”
What is your favorite color?
My favorite colors are Yellow.
What is you favorite children’s book?
My favorite book is Is There Really a Human Race?
How do you prefer to communicate with your parents?
I prefer to communicate with my parents through Behavior Folders, the telephone, newsletters, and graded papers.

I have taught Kindergarten 14 years and First grade 6 years. I have 2 grown sons.
