My name is Anita Shaffer. I was born in Mansfield, Ohio. At the age of 10, my family moved to the Dayton, Ohio area. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Wright State University in Dayton. Soon after graduating from college, I moved to Nashville in September 2001. My first teaching job was in Sumner County Schools teaching fifth grade. After teaching in Sumner County, I came to Metro-Nashville Schools and began teaching second grade here at Una. This is my fourth year teaching at Una. My favorite subject to teach is reading. I enjoy reading to my students and listening to them read to me. My parents and brother still live in Ohio. I enjoy traveling to visit and spend time with my family. I also enjoy being outdoors, such as going hiking and horseback riding.
