Ms. Lovern’s Bio

Tell about some exciting things that your class has done this year, or things that you plan to do before the end of the year.

Our class is going to the Zoo soon…..They are soooo excited, and so is their teacher. My class has really enjoyed all the field trips this year. We have been to the pumpkin patch, the children’s theater, and Purity Dairy. They have LOVED going to all of them. They come back to school very tired.

Tell about any ongoing professional development or continued education you have been working on this year. (Graduate work, Covey, new certification, etc….)

I have completed all my course work for my ELL endorsement and will continue my education by completing my Masters Degree next summer.

Where did you attend school, what was your major?

I attended Kennesaw State University in Atlanta, Georgia. I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Do you have a higher degree? How many years do you have? ( Masters, +30, Dr…)

I hope to start my Masters Degree next summer.

What made you decide to teach Kindergarten?

I love to teach small children. The excitement on their face when they learn something new is “priceless”. I have really enjoyed teaching Kindergarten and will continue to work hard for them each and everyday.

What is you favorite color?

My favorite color is blue.

What is your favorite children’s book?

My favorite children’s book is The Cat in the Hat.

How do you prefer to communicate with you parents?

I prefer to speak to parents over the phone or with help from the Spanish translator.

Tell about a special event or day your class participated in. You may want to include some student comments about the day or event.

Pajama Day: The children dressed in their favorite pajamas and wore them to school all day. They loved it and so did their teacher. It made for a “sleepy” day, but the children were so excited about being in their pajamas and seeing their friends in their pajamas too.
