EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

High School Diploma or GED. Three (3) years experience in supporting networking technologies; minimum one (1) year experience in troubleshooting complex medium to large size enterprise networks. Associate Degree or Bachelors Degree in Information Technology/ Network Administration preferred. CCNA and/or Net+ preferred.

The Network Operation Center Support Technician monitors a multitude of indicators related to the MNPS network services. Troubleshoots issues related to networking technologies; extensive understanding of traditional voice technologies; Layer2 Voice over Ethernet; Layer3 VoIP using SIP/RTP; In-depth knowledge of networking technologies including:TCP/IP, DHCP,TFTP,VLAN, QoS, VoIP, and various WAN technologies (Frame Relay, Metropolitan Ethernet, etc.). Must be able to sit or stand in one location for long periods of time. Must have normal Red-Green Color Vision – this is required in order to interpret various performance indicators; must be able to carry on telephone conversation using standard telephones or other two-way verbal communication devices.
