“PREPARING TEACHERS FOR CHILDREN IN POVERTY”

Enclosed is a copy of the article “Preparing Teachers for Children in Poverty” which appears in this month’s edition of THE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR which Dr. Camille Holt and I authored.

LANCE LOTT, ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT FOR TECHNOLOGY AND STRATEGIC PLANNING

We are preparing information requested by the Board regarding the Customer Service Center. There are two components to this information. The Knowledge Base is currently being updated to reflect what we have learned in the first few months of operations. We are working with our Communications department and meeting with each department to review all information in the Knowledge Base and determining what changes need to be made. Secondly, we are compiling complaint statistics for the first semester. There have been some systems and learning curve issues as part of our Customer Service Center startup that will prevent us from having a full semester worth of data. However, the information to be presented will provide useful guidance on the types and volume of issues we work on and resolve. This information will be delivered in January.
