SWIM INSTRUCTOR
SUMMARY:
Under supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator and Activities Manager, teach private, semi-private, and group swim lessons following the guidelines of the American Red Cross.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Able to incorporate safety presentation in all lessons
2. Complete necessary daily swimmer’s log for each student
3. Able to design effective lesson plans and goals for each class
4. Participates in monthly in-services
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Possess current certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguarding and CPR for the Professional Rescuer
· Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Must be able to work year-round – days, nights, and weekends
2. Must have thorough understanding of aquatics programs, lifeguard responsibilities, and current practices of pool hygiene/sanitation
3. Must have the ability to work cooperatively with people of all ages in an enthusiastic manner
4. A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience preferred
