2006 Inductees
Billy Joe Adcock -- 1946 West High School graduate, is a former basketball player for Vanderbilt University and the Minnesota Lakers (currently L.A. Lakers);
Harold “Buster” Boguskie -- inducted posthumously, is a 1942 Cumberland High School graduate, who played second base for the Nashville Vols and served as head baseball coach at Belmont College;
Jackie Cowan Ransom -- 1982 Whites Creek High School graduate, was the first female athlete to receive a full athletic scholarship to a Division I school in basketball;
Barbara Frazier -- 1981 Pearl High School graduate and MNPS principal, was a member of the first five-on-five Girl’s State Championship Basketball Team and was the first Metro School athlete to become a Tennessee State University Tigerbelle;
Tommy Z. Haynes -- 1970 North High School graduate, was a member of the football and track teams at North High and was the co-captain and team member of the 1976 Olympic Track and Field Team;
E.J. Junior -- 1977 Maplewood High School graduate, was awarded the Hume Award and received All-State and All-American honors for football which led him to play for Coach Bear Bryant and the St. Louis Cardinals;
Lester McClain -- 1967 Antioch High School graduate, was the first African-American to receive a football athletic scholarship at the University of Tennessee and played for the Chicago Bears;
Tom Moore -- 1956 Goodlettsville High School graduate, was selected as an All-State football player in 1955 and “SEC Offensive Player of the Year” in 1960 while attending Vanderbilt University;
Ann Hutcheson Price, M.D. -- 1968 Hillsboro High School graduate, was outstanding in basketball, tennis and track and received the Nashville Banner’s “Basketball Player of the Decade” for the 1960’s.
