Exciting things this year:
We will learn to add and subtract, tell time, and count money.  We will explore science with our hands-on science kits which may contain some creepy and crawly organisms.  We will learn more words, and in turn, be able to read better!

Professional development:
This summer I attended the New Teacher orientation and workshop for Metro Schools.  I also attended a workshop on our new reading and handwriting books.

School attended:
I attended Tennessee Technological University and received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.

Years: I have taught::
This is my first year teaching first grade.

Why teach 1st grade?
First grade is going to be fun.  We learn so much!

I love the Arthur series

In person, on the telephone and by notes.

Special Event or Day:
We are planning some fun field trips, and party activities throughout the year.

Interesting Facts or Information:
I have been married for 2 years. This summer my husband and I took vacations to Florida and England. The only kids I have are my students and my cats (Honeymoon, Clark and ChilliMeat)
