Update On Standard School Attire
We are continuing our implementation steps to ensure a smooth transition to Standard School Attire in the coming school year:
1. Before the beginning of summer break, all schools sent a letter home with students to remind families of the guidelines and inform them of the additional colors allowed at each school. The list of colors for all schools has now been compiled and will be posted on the district’s website next week.
2. We are continuing to work with vendors in the city to ensure wide availability of Standard Attire for our families. Both large and small businesses have assured us that they will easily be able to stock a variety of suitable clothing, and the prices they mention continue to be quite reasonable.
3. Metro Legal has almost completed its written opinion concerning the changes to District Standard Operating Policy (Personal Appearance/Student Dress Code #1737). We expect to provide that information to the Board before the end of the month.
