2007-2008 Operating Budget
 
Schools Director Pedro Garcia presented the first draft of the proposed 2007-2008 Metro Schools Operating Budget to members of the Board of Education Jan. 30, 2007.

In the following weeks, Board members reviewed the proposed budget, conducted a public hearing for community comment and made any adjustments to reflect the needs of students and staff.

The Board voted on a final operating budget Feb. 27. After the Board's approval, the school district's budget was presented to Nashville Mayor Bill Purcell, who will in turn made his recommendation to the Metro Council for funding. The Council approved the final budget June 26, 2007.
