BUDGET HEARING WITH THE MAYOR
We have been notified that the Board’s budget hearing with Mayor Purcell is scheduled
for Thursday, May 12 at 2:00 p.m. at City Hall in the Mayor’s conference room.

Public Information activities for week of April 11-15
Continued work on Sports Hall of Fame event (set for April 26) including coordinating activities for
printed program; preparing and mailing letters of invitation to the ceremony; working on ceremony logistics.
Continued work on April 18 evening community meeting at Hillwood High School, involving representatives
from the Mayor’s office, Metro Codes, Metro Public Works, Nashville Electric Service and MNPS staff – with
residents on Davidson Road who are concerned about noise abatement and other issues.
Continued work on budget-related issues and materials for public information.
Attended first Start of Schools meeting for planning opening for 05-06 school year.
Tested information provided by IT for web content site audit, attended planning meetings and began
process of auditing Public Information Department content.
Prepared and issued media advisory for Healthy Kids Kickoff at request of Mayor’s Office of Children
and Youth; attended media event at Haywood Elementary and photographed participants for web site.
Provided support and certificates for recognitions at April 12 Board Meeting. Photographed
honorees and forwarded images to appropriate schools.
Fielded media calls regarding: ENCORE changes, bus/bicyclist accident, kindergarten numbers,
number of Kurdish teachers, arrest of employee at MLK.
Prepared certificates for retirement reception honorees.
Assisted community organizations with distribution of approved materials to schools.
Spoke with Barnes & Noble staff regarding plans for Back the Stack event April 23 at Opry
Mills and need for student performances that day.
