RE:

Board Letter - March 11, 2005

LANCE LOTT, CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

The district has a project in progress to implement a content management system. This
entails a complete overhaul of the district and school websites. The new content
management system will provide a dynamic process for any staff member with the
proper authority in the system to change the content on websites. This system
will be in place for the district and ten schools prior to school startup for 2005-2006.
Other schools will be implementing it next fall. This is an exciting change and it should
allow us to be much more proactive in providing current and relevant content to our customers.

We have included prototype designs of the district and school websites. Feel free to
e-mail me with any comments you have about these designs or this project in general.

DR. JUNE KEEL, ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT FOR HUMAN RESOURCES

Recruitment Program Highlighted

MNPS was asked to give a presentation on our recruitment program at a
conference for new HR administrators sponsored by the American Association of
School Personnel Administrators (AASPA). Of special interest to the AASPA
membership is the change in our recruitment efforts with the initiation of the
on-line interview, on-line application, and our new recruitment DVD. In addition,
Kay Stafford and Gene Foster went to Omaha, Nebraska, at the request
(and expense) of The Gallup Institute to showcase our recruitment program
at their summit on Teacher Recruitment and Retention. We are thrilled to have
these opportunities to showcase our work and MNPS!
