RE:

Board Letter - February 25, 2005

LANCE LOTT, CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

Some progress continues to be made with respect to Chancery operations. The last few weeks overall performance has been considerably better. This past week we experienced some slower performance related to grade entry and report card processing. Report cards will be distributed next week with no known exceptions at this time.

We are targeting hardware and software upgrades to Chancery during the week of spring break. Both of these efforts are aimed at improving overall system performance and readying the system for the 2005-2006 student scheduling process. A team of LSS and I/T personnel are working on a detailed and structured plan to help ensure accurate schedules are generated at each school. This project will be formally getting underway in the next few weeks as principals and staff members begin attending training sessions to prepare them for scheduling.
