Course Description

 

This is a continuing course that focuses on the introduction and basic skills involved in participating in a variety of team games.  This course is also designed to promote good sportsmanship, cooperation, and leadership among students.

 

Course of Study

 

The proposed sequential order for teaching each of these units is the introduction of history, terminology, rules and game strategy.  The development of skill acquisition will be accomplished through drills and lead-up games.  Following the successful demonstration of skills, the students will play the game or engage in the activity.   Activities could include but are not limited to the following:
